Why I Understand Wedding Days Beyond the Camera

When it comes to weddings, my understanding goes far beyond simply showing up with a camera. I planned most of my own wedding, and through that experience, I gained a deep appreciation for everything that goes into a wedding day. From building a timeline to navigating family dynamics and etiquette, I learned firsthand how many moving pieces come together to create a meaningful and well-paced celebration.

Planning my own wedding showed me just how emotional and layered this day truly is. It is not only about beautiful details or a carefully structured schedule. It is about honoring relationships, managing expectations, and holding space for moments that cannot be recreated. That perspective has stayed with me and continues to shape how I approach weddings today.

In addition to planning my own wedding, I now work as an assistant wedding planner. Being behind the scenes has given me an even deeper understanding of how a wedding day flows from start to finish. I understand how timelines work, how to keep things moving without feeling rushed, and how to adapt calmly when plans shift, because they often do. I am familiar with vendor coordination, ceremony etiquette, and the importance of being present without being intrusive.

Alongside this, I have experienced second shooting weddings with other photographers. Working in this role has allowed me to observe and document wedding days from a photographer’s perspective while supporting the overall flow of the day. I understand how to anticipate moments, work efficiently within a timeline, communicate clearly with lead photographers and vendors, and capture meaningful details as they unfold naturally.

Having experienced weddings from the perspective of a bride, a planner, and a photographer gives me a well-rounded understanding of what couples truly need on their wedding day. I know when to gently guide, when to step back, and when to simply let a moment happen. Most importantly, I understand how important it is for couples to feel supported, calm, and fully present on one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

While I am continuing to grow my portfolio as a solo wedding photographer, I bring a deep respect for this milestone and a strong foundation rooted in experience, preparation, and care. I approach every wedding with intention, thoughtfulness, and a genuine understanding of the responsibility that comes with documenting such an important day.

Your wedding day deserves someone who understands not only how to photograph it, but how to honor it. Someone who values the flow, the feeling, and the people just as much as the images themselves.

Your wedding day is more than an event. It is a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of love, history, and intention, and it deserves to be documented by someone who understands the weight and beauty of every moment within it.

What to Expect When You Book Us as your Portrait or Wedding Photographer

Choosing a photographer is about so much more than just beautiful images. You are trusting someone with your memories, your people, and moments that matter deeply. I believe the experience should feel just as meaningful as the photos themselves.

From the moment you inquire, my goal is to make the process feel easy and personal. I take time to get to know you, your story, and what you want these photos to represent. Afterward, your images are carefully edited with a timeless, true-to-life approach so they feel just as meaningful years from now. When you book with me, you are not just booking photos. You are booking an experience rooted in care, trust, and thoughtful storytelling from start to finish.

When you choose me, you are choosing more than a photographer. You are choosing someone who will care about your story as deeply as you do and walk with you through every step of preserving it.

Get to Know Me & My Why

I’ve loved photos for as long as I can remember. From a really young age, I was always the one grabbing the camera, holding onto ticket stubs, saving screenshots, and tucking memories away for someday. I’ve always been a bit of a photo hoarder, and honestly, I wear that proudly.

Growing up, my family faced a lot of health challenges, and when I lost my mom to cancer in high school, my relationship with photographs changed forever. Looking back, there are moments I wish I had captured more of. More everyday memories, more quiet in between moments, more photos of us simply together. That loss gave me a perspective I carry with me every time I pick up my camera.

When I photograph families, couples, or milestones, I am always aware that these images are more than just pretty photos for right now. They are keepsakes for years down the road. They are reminders of love, connection, and seasons of life that move faster than we ever expect. The truth is, we never know how long we get with the people we love, and that is why documenting every stage, every milestone, and every chapter matters so much to me.

Becoming a mom only deepened that why. Watching my son grow, and now preparing to welcome another little one, I feel that urgency even more. I want to capture the tiny details, the fleeting phases, and the moments that feel ordinary today but will one day mean everything. I already find myself going back to photos from just a year ago, amazed at how much has changed.

Photography, to me, is about honoring life as it is, right now. It is about preserving the love you are living in today so you can hold onto it tomorrow and decades from now. That is why I do this work. That is why I believe these memories should always be prioritized.

When you choose me as your photographer, you are trusting me with something deeply personal. I treat every client the way I would my own family, with care, intention, and heart. You can rest easy knowing your memories are in loving hands, and that I will document your story with the same thoughtfulness and attention I would give to those I love most.

I photograph today with tomorrow in mind. It’s about preserving the pieces of your story that time can never replace and honoring the love you’ll one day look back on and hold close.
